BEST PERFORMING IPO 2024

What is IPO ?

An IPO (Initial Public Offering) is the process by which a private company becomes publicly traded by offering its shares to the general public for the first time. This allows the company to raise capital from investors in exchange for equity.

  1. Purpose – Companies go public to raise funds for expansion, debt repayment, or other business needs.
  2. Process – The company hires investment banks to underwrite the IPO, set the share price, and list the stock on an exchange (e.g., NSE, BSE).
  3. Investors – Retail investors, institutional investors, and high-net-worth individuals (HNIs) can participate.
  4. Pricing – IPOs can be fixed price or book-building, where the price is determined based on demand.
  5. Listing Gains – If demand is high, the stock may list at a premium, allowing early investors to make quick profits.
  6. Lock-in Period – Some investors (like promoters) have restrictions on selling shares immediately after the IPO.
